It is out. Servant of the Lake released on 13 August 2026, on Steam, the App Store and Google Play on the same day.
| Version | Platform | Released |
|---|---|---|
| Full game | Steam (Windows, macOS) | 13 Aug 2026 |
| Full game | iOS | 13 Aug 2026 |
| Full game | Android | 13 Aug 2026 |
| Lite (free) | Android | 20 Apr 2026 |
| Lite (free) | iOS | before launch — exact date not confirmed |
| Demo (free) | Steam | October 2025 |
The staggered free releases are why the dates look confusing
Searches for a release date have been running since 2025, because Rusty Lake put free content out well ahead of the game:
- The Steam demo appeared in October 2025, nearly a year early.
- The Android Lite build went up on 20 April 2026, about four months before launch.
So people have been playing the opening for months. If you saw someone streaming it in spring and assumed the game was out, that was Lite.
No simultaneous console release
There was no PS5, Switch or Xbox version on launch day and none has been announced. There is no Linux build either. See consoles.
Is there a launch window discount?
Yes, on Steam only: −25% until 27 August 2026, bringing it to $5.99. The mobile stores launched at their normal $4.99 with no introductory price. Full breakdown on the price page.
Reception so far
Two days in, Steam shows 96% positive from 921 reviews — "Overwhelmingly Positive". The free Android Lite build sits at 4.8 from 2,808 ratings. Both figures were read on 14 August 2026 and will have moved since.
