The first game Rusty Lake ever released, and the one the whole series keeps pointing back at. One room, revisited across four seasons — Spring 1964, Summer 1971, Fall 1971 and Winter 1981 — with Laura Vanderboom as the protagonist.
It is short, it is free on mobile, and it is the entry point the play order page recommends. Start here.
Why it comes first
Seasons is not the most polished Rusty Lake game and it is not trying to be. It establishes the room, the family, the bird, and the habit of telling you almost nothing — every later entry assumes you have been in this room. Playing the series in any other order means meeting the payoffs before the setup.
Where to play it
| Platform | How |
|---|---|
| iOS / Android | Free, standalone |
| PC / Mac | Inside Cube Escape Collection (2020, Steam) — bundles the first nine Cube Escape games |
The Collection is the only way to play the early entries on desktop. The mobile versions stay free and standalone.

Not confirmed
We could not verify the following against a source we trust, so it is left out rather than guessed at.
- Playtime. Neither of the walkthrough sources states one, and Rusty Lake has never published a figure for the Cube Escape entries.
- Exact release date within 2015. The year is confirmed against two sources; the day is not.
