Servant of the Lake Lite

Lite is the free mobile build of Servant of the Lake on iOS and Android. What it includes, where it stops, and why it has 100,000 installs and a 4.8 rating.

Prices last checked 2026-08-14. Stores change them without notice — the store link is the authority.

Lite is free, official, and not a trial. It is a separate app from Rusty Lake covering the opening of Servant of the Lake, with no ads, no in-app purchases and no timer.

It has been out since April

The Android build went up on 20 April 2026, about four months before the paid game. That head start is why it has six figures of installs and nearly three thousand ratings while the full release, a day old, has almost none.

Practically: if someone told you they played this months ago, they played Lite.

Where it stops

Lite covers the courtyard, the kitchen, and Aldous's bedroom — arriving at the estate, paying the driver, cooking the porridge and getting him up. It ends there. Everything from the garden onward, plus the whole of Day 2 and Day 3, is in the paid game.

The puzzles in Lite are the real ones, unchanged. It is a slice, not a rebuild.

Lite is rated Everyone; the full game is Teen

That gap is informative. Google Play rates Lite Everyone and the paid Android release Teen, which tells you the content responsible for the higher rating all sits past where Lite ends. If you are deciding whether this is suitable for a younger player, Lite is not a representative sample.

Lite versus the Steam demo

Same content, different hardware. The Steam demo has been available since October 2025 and covers the same opening. Playing one gives you nothing new in the other.

If you liked it

The full game is $4.99 on the same store you got Lite from — no upgrade path or discount for having played Lite, it is a separate purchase. Progress does not carry across; you will replay the opening.

See the price comparison first: at list price mobile is cheaper than Steam, but Steam is $5.99 until 27 August.

Getting stuck in Lite

The exercise puzzle is the wall, and on touch it is an input problem rather than a puzzle one — the poses are set by dragging and short drags register as taps. Solutions for everything in Lite are on our sister site's Lite walkthrough.

Not confirmed

We could not verify the following against a source we trust, so it is left out rather than guessed at.

  • The exact iOS release date for Lite. It shipped before the full game but Apple does not expose the original date in its public listing.
